Noble considering Ireland - Daily Mail
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2737152/Mark-Noble-ready-play-Ireland-West-Ham-midfielder-gives-England-call-up.html

Mark Noble will give serious consideration to representing the Republic of Ireland at international level after being overlooked by England manager Roy Hodgson.

It has emerged that the West Ham United midfielder qualifies for Ireland by virtue of his paternal grandparents and has been pursued by manager Martin O’Neill since he took over last November.

Assistant Roy Keane is believed to have scouted Noble, 27, and O’Neill wants to bring him into the Irish set-up to add quality to his midfield options for the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign.

Noble was named West Ham’s player of the year last season and it had been expected he might be included in Hodgson’s latest squad for the friendly with Norway and qualifier against Switzerland.

He was on the England radar but instead Jack Colback and Fabian Delph got the nod, leaving Noble thinking about accepting O’Neill’s offer. A passport would need to be sorted but that hurdle is not envisaged to present any problems.

Noble, born in Canning Town, London, represented England at youth levels and captained the Under-21 side that made the final of the 2009 European Championships.

That 4-0 defeat five years ago to a Germany side that included six future World Cup winners was Noble’s last in an England shirt. In all he won 20 caps, scoring three goals for the Under-21s.

Since then he has established himself as one of West Ham’s most important players and is this year celebrating a decade of first-team football at Upton Park. He has scored 33 goals in 287 appearances for the club.

Noble, who attracted interest from Sunderland and Newcastle this summer, was thought to have been looked at by O’Neill’s predecessor Giovanni Trapattoni and would provide a strong partner for James McCarthy in central midfield were he pledge allegiance to Ireland.

Re: Noble considering Ireland - Daily Mail
He might as well.

Fair enough when fatty, Gerrard and Barry were the undroppables but now there's been a load of young players bought in and he's been overlooked again for the likes of Colbeck and Delph, after seeing bang average Cleverly and the like get a more than generous chance.

Clearly he's not going to get a chance so why not go and play for the micks if England don't want him.

Only way he'd ever get international football. Clearly not good enough for England. Don't blame him though

Re: Noble considering Ireland - Daily Mail
Personally think this is wrong if he does it. Captained England U21s, so clearly considers himself English. Representing another country...just weird if you ask me. Is meant to be about passion and playing for your nation...not just finding a way to play a few extra games a year in a different setting.

If he does it good luck to him as I like Noble, and whilst thinking he's not good enough for England he's no worse than some of the other jokers being selected. Just personally I don't think it's what International football is all about.

Re: Noble considering Ireland - Daily Mail
I'd be happy if he doesn't take on international games where he will get fatigued and injured especially for a country which he does not have a true passion for.

He doesn't strike me as the sort of person who would consider a different national team so this is probably a C&H level exclusive.

Re: Noble considering Ireland - Daily Mail
As an Irishman, I'd love if this happened but I just can't see him backtracking on numerous statements he has made over the years indicating that it's England or nothing on the international front for him. I respect him for that, which is not to say that I'd lose any respect for him if he chose to turn out with the Boys in Green.

What exactly has Jack Colback done to earn an England place ahead of Noble.

Fucking baffling.

Re: Noble considering Ireland - Daily Mail
The Fa really need to their fingers out of their arses, firstly allowing Hodgson making Rooney captain is a disgrace to football and a disgrace to this country. What did he do to get that? threaten to retire from England?

Secondly they need to look at picking a team that is full of players on form and not just big names. It is becoming tiresome that our players get overlooked when they are on form but if you play for the top 4 yet injured or badly off form you still get picked.

Re: Noble considering Ireland - Daily Mail
frankly from a WHU pont of view I don't want him playing any international football, but don't blame him at all for maybe considering Ireland.

The fact that he's been a consistent PL player for at least 5 years now, was a pretty successful captain for the U21s, and plays in a position where England have lost quite a few players due to retirement and injury lately - the fact he hasn't even made a SQUAD yet is a pisstake.

And what makes it worse is some of the shite that's been picked ahead of him.

Delph, Colback, Cleverly for starters.

Not for a minute saying he should be starting, but he should've been given an opportunity by now.

Re: Noble considering Ireland - Daily Mail
I actually think he deserves a crack
at international football he is never going to get into England in front of the shit The establishment picks from the Yids Bin Dippers Mancs or Arsenals few average players - The ROI as a team have a real genuine work ethic for the team rather like Noble and I think it would be ideal for him the ROI and us - there I said it !

Re: Noble considering Ireland - Daily Mail
Its unbelievable that Noble would even consider this. What kind of cunt would want to play for a foreign nation?

I hope he goes for it, would be a regular in their team.
